Starting A Vintage Pedal Car Collection

Starting A Vintage Pedal Car Collection

Jump Starter

Toy cars are now the rage, and car enthusiasts love to collect them. These collectibles have even achieved a broader appeal, becoming a kitsch item used in retro interior decorating. Restaurants that have racing themes use these eye-catching toy cars. Fun for children and adults alike to admire, collectors may display their vehicles on shelves, mounted on pedestals, hung from the ceiling, or just sitting on the floor. As you begin collecting, you may be surprised at the number of other car enthusiasts you meet who also have a toy car collection of their own.

Starting your own collection of vintage toy cars and displaying them is fairly easy, all you need to do is decide what model or type of car you wish to collect. Some collectors focus on a specific model, such as the 1955 Chevy. Others collect a type of toy car, such as Hot Wheels or pedal cars. Many choose a combination of these collecting techniques, such as models styled after the '55 Chevy. Once you start collecting, you'll probably find that there are way more types of toy cars out there than you had imagined.

By turning to the internet, you'll find a wide selection of vintage and new toy cars, as well as reproductions of vintage cars that may be well outside your price range. This is especially true with pedal cars; though a fully restored original can cost thousands of dollars, a reproduction using the original molds and paint scheme can be had for just a few hundred, and makes a wonderful display piece.

When collecting pedal cars, it's important to keep in mind that the older the pedal car, the more expensive it tends to be. The vintage and antique pedal cars are in high demand for collectors. If you're new to the world of collecting, you might want to make your first purchase a newer model to 'get your feet wet' and jump-start your collection. From 'fantasy' models like a pink pedal plane to more traditional hot rods, even new pedal cars often become treasured by collectors.

Don't be surprised if you find you can't stop after just one pedal car. Many collectors of this nostalgic toy have dozens of them on display. Some toy car collectors don't consider their collection to be complete unless they have one of every type they can find. In this case, opting for reproductions is an economical way to ensure that each model is represented in the collection without shelling out the money for the real thing.

Once you've started your collection, you'll want to plan out a method for displaying the cars. This is true whether you're collecting the tiniest miniature cars or pedal toys, which can take up a bit more space in your home. A good display case will protect the cars while still allowing them to be viewed. Other collectors prefer to have their cars out in the open, where they can be played with and enjoyed fully. Ultimately the decision is up to you, since your collection is for your enjoyment.

6 Easy Ways To Increase Vertical Jump

6 Easy Ways To Increase Vertical Jump

Jump Starter

Whether you've undergone a physical exam for an athletic team or experienced a session of bragging rights amongst friends, the subject of vertical jumping is one that also enhances the overall performance level in basketball, football, volleyball, and track and field. When interested, there are plenty of ways to increase vertical jump, as there are many advantages, including enhanced participation in sporting events and recreational competition.

While some people believe vertical leaps are solely based upon leg strength and muscles, an assortment of additional body parts play an important role in vertical jumping. This means a training program focused on the legs, abdomen, and even the arms provides some of the best ways to increase vertical jump. Below you will find a few suggestions to consider when you are interested in enhancing your impressive leap into the air:

Leap-ups: Standing with your feet shoulder-width apart, one should jump into the air while looking straight
ahead. Once they come down about ¼ of the way, they should immediately soar into the air. The purpose of this exercise is to train the muscles to better respond to the movements associated with jumping into the air. In the end, an improved vertical leap is the result.

Stretching: One of the lesser-known ways to increase vertical jump is through stretching, which provides an athlete with the flexibility needed to gracefully leap into the air.

Calf Raises: To start, place your heels over an object that permits them from touching the ground, such as a step or book. The object of the exercise is to go all the way up into the air and then slowly come down. First, complete the exercise using one leg and then switch to work out the other.

Step-Ups: With the help of a sturdy chair or bench, place one leg on the chair, and then push yourself off with the help of the other. While in the air, you should switch legs, putting the leg that was once on the ground onto the bench, and place the leg that was once the bench onto the ground. This exercise should involve a specific number of reps assigned for each leg.

Thrust-Ups and Burnouts: While standing with your feet shoulder-width apart, you should lock your knees and then jump up with just the help of your calves. When completing this exercise, you should only bend at the ankles. Once you land, you should immediately return to the upward position. Some people also choose whether or not to use their arms during this exercise. To complete burnouts, start in the same starting position as a thrust-up, where the toes are used to propel an individual into the air. This particular exercise focuses on jumping up by relying only on the toes and sides of the thighs.

Sit-Ups: In order to strengthen the abdominal core, sit-ups are considered one of the best exercises for
enhancing explosive energy and the stability necessary to increase vertical leap. While lying flat on your back, bend your knees and raise your torso to your knees (holding the position for a moment) before lowering the torso in a slow motion.

Additional Techniques: Athletes looking for more ways to increase vertical jump will find an assortment of
intriguing and challenging exercises to consider.A couple of recommendations include toe curls, box squats
with resistance bands, snatch grip deadlifts, reverse hyperextensions, weighted ab routine, and standing
backward medicine ball tosses.

Jump Manual Review - Can You Gain 10 Inches With the Jump Manual?

Jump Manual Review - Can You Gain 10 Inches With the Jump Manual?

Jump Starter

The Jump Manual has been a runaway success on the internet. It currently ranks as the #1 Internet Vertical Jump Program. But what does that mean to you?

Jump Manual Review

Though mostly an ebook, The Jump Manual does come with other materials, including some terrific bonuses. Dave Hopla explains how he shoots 99% from the foul line -- yes 99%. Also included is an interview with Peak Performance, letting athletes know how to thrive in high-pressure situations.

Jacob Hiller, author and coach of vertical jump coach to Olympic & professional athletes, has structured the Jump Manual in a logical way. Starting with the "physical aspects of jumping" and moving on to the importance of diet and rest. Jacob has given plenty of thought on the everyday routine of jumpers & athletes, leaving nothing out. You will get advice on what to do while "in training," and how to properly rest to maximize your "no training" time.

The jumping exercise program concentrates on maximum intensity of workouts. You need to give 100% effort on every repetition. Anything else is simply hurting your vertical leap. That is one of the "secret ingredients" to the success of The Jump Manual. The jumping exercises are put into a nice workout chart, where a different set of exercises are performed during each of the 14 days. The vertical jump program doesn't get stale or boring as you rotate exercises. Some of the workouts do use weights, while others can be done without weights.

The workout regimen, of course, is the major value of the Jump Manual. There are plyometrics, stretches, strength exercises, and drills designed improve your quickness and maximize your vertical explosion. As described above, the "secret formula" is in how you execute each workout exercise. Some of the exercises you will know while others are new. You might find out, like I did, that you are doing many of these exercises incorrectly -- that is robbing inches from your vertical leap. If you play basketball, you will appreciate the plyometric exercises simulate game experience. The same could be said if you are a volleyball player.

Drawbacks
Like anything in life, there are some drawbacks to The Jump Manual. I found printing the exercises and workout charts a little cumbersome. I wish there had been some separate PDFs that were ready to go. Also, I wouldn't mind having a progress chart. You can use the jumping forums for help so that negates some of the negatives.

Conclusion
If you are serious about gaining inches on your vertical leap, The Jump Manual is the right tool for you. The 60-day, iron-clad guarantee prevents you from having any downside. There are a lot of vertical jump programs on the internet. But if you really want to increase your vertical, The Jump Manual will have you jumping higher in a matter of weeks.

How to Jump Start a Car - Simple Step-By-Step Instructions

How to Jump Start a Car - Simple Step-By-Step Instructions

Jump Starter

Wondering how to jump start a car? If so, then keep reading. This article will guide you step-by-step on how to test a battery, hook up a battery, and how to start a car using nothing but a pair of jumper cables and another working vehicle.

This article assumes that you already have a set of good jumper cables (or can borrow a set), and a working car to give you the jump start. It also assumes that you have both cars positioned close enough for the jumper cables to reach each vehicle.

NOTE: You should always use safety equipment if you have it. A good set of gloves and safety glasses should be an essential part of your roadside emergency kit.

Locate both of the RED, positive (+) clamps on the set of jumper cables, as well as the black or negative (-) clamps. Jumper cables are usually color-coded to make things easier to use - and less dangerous. Ensure that the vehicle containing the GOOD battery is not running and the ignition is turned off in both vehicles. Connect the RED clamp to the positive (+) post on the DEAD battery. Next, connect the other RED clamp to the positive (+) post of the GOOD battery. Third, connect the BLACK clamp to the negative (-) post of the GOOD battery. Here's the tricky part. DO NOT connect the remaining BLACK clamp to the negative post of the dead battery. You will now need to find and connect it to a bit of exposed metal. This can sometimes be a bolt, or piece of the chassis under the hood. You will know that you have a good connection when you see a tiny spark when you connect the final clamp. Warning: If you connect the final clamp directly to the negative post of the dead battery, you run the risk of igniting the highly flammable hydrogen, coming from the battery. Start the car containing the GOOD battery. Wait at least 5 minutes. Attempt to start the car containing the dead battery. If the car doesn't start, you may need to wait longer than 5 minutes, especially in colder weather. When the car containing the dead battery finally does start, you will need to remove the jumper cables as soon as possible. However, you will need to remove them in reverse order, starting with the black clamp that was connected to the exposed piece of metal.

That is how to jump start a car.

If your car battery needs to be jump started on a regular basis, it may be time to replace the battery. When batteries get old, they have more trouble holding enough power to start a car. A good battery typically costs less than 0 (sometimes much less) and is well worth the money, in my opinion.

Also, if you are frequently needing to jump start cars or trucks (not necessarily your own), check out the Schumacher PSJ2212 Jump Starter. It's the only way that I know how to jump start a car without another car around.
